MILAN are the World’s first pop opera girl band consisting of three talented singers from three different nations performing a unique fusion of opera and dance music. The live show incorporates brilliant live vocals, choreography,many class costume changes and original musical scores that are arranged especially for MILAN and that are enhanced by their multi-lingual skills i.e English,Italian,French,German,Swedish, Norwegian and Japanese.

The original conception was to bring soprano/contralto style vocals to a much younger audience, together with cool dance grooves and a sexy image. The result was to bring brilliant updated arrangements to some wonderful and well known operatic pieces that stand out - from Carmen, La Traviata and many, many more.

Milan have a fairly radical approach and are aiming their music and arrangements at the new younger market, with arrangements and tracks that would be at home in an Ibiza nightclub or the Royal Albert Hall or Carnegie Hall. Certainly taking Opera into the mainstream. The full programme is complemented with modern classics being given the outstanding Milan treatment – wonderful vocals by three very beautiful and talented young ladies.

The producers took many months, auditioning girls from all over Europe to find the perfect blend for Milan and, in June 2007, this line-up was complete. A truly international flavour.

The group comprises -

ANNA VAUPEL who was born in the USA and lived briefly in Austria before moving to Denmark at the age of seven. In 2002 Anna was invited to study with the British vocal coach Ian Adam in London and simultaneously began her BA in Drama and Theatre Arts at Goldsmiths,University of London. With a wonderful vocal range of F below middle C - E# over high C Anna, along with Laura and Natalie perform perfect harmonies. Anna is performing in MILAN and recording their new album ' Dancaria' whilst appearing in the MILAN live show around Europe, singing Classical, Musical Theatre, Jazz and Pop. Her dance training was via LABAN, contemporary dance. Anna is also a top graded pianist.

LAURA MAY is English and amongst her special skills she lists a strong Soprano range - low F to top D - along with skilled dance and acting skills. Laura has appeared and starred in many productions ranging from 'Maria' in 'West Side Story' to ' La Cages Aux Folles'. Laura is performing in MILAN and recording their new album ' Dancaria'. Laura lists amongst her skills Jazz,Tap and Ballet dance and Foreign Language Voice Over work for the BBC etc:

NATALIE HUNTER lives in North Yorkshire, UK, where the producer of MILAN Malcolm Middleton noted her vocal/dance skills. Natalie had already appeared singing solo on the BBC Children in Need TV shows, and Selby Abbey for the Duke of Edinburgh awards. Natalie joined Anna and Laura in MILAN working in Europe and who are now recording their first album 'Dancaria'. Natalie lists amongst her special skills starring in musical theatre and singing with various bands in Europe and has appeared many times on the catwalk as a model for many fashion shows in the UK.
